GCE 2024 LAUNCHING
The 2023 – 2024 academic year has long began in Cameroon. We actually examined the theme of the academic year together with a series of blogs on the subject, centred the theme “Digitalisation and Classroom Practices for the Modernisation of Teaching and Learning at the Ministry of Secondary Education”. With respect to this theme, we exploited the concept of digitalisation in Cameroon as a blog on its own.
The wait for the launch of the Cameroon General Certificate of Education examination (CGCE) is now over.
In a Radio announcement, signed “for the REGISTRAR and by DELEGATION” by NDI Bernadette FRINWIE NTEMNA, the CGCE Board announces that registrations for the said examination for both ordinary and advanced levels starts on the first of November 2023 (01/11/2023) and registration will close with “no late registration” on the twenty third of February 2023 (23/02/2023).
Important information on the letter (radio announcement) from the CGCEB.
The same letter from the board carried some information that it termed “additional information”. In six points, the CGCEB said, and we quote;
- It should be noted that after the 23rd February, 2024, the E-Registration software will automatically stop accepting new entries.
- The registration process begins at the centre where the candidates intend to write, and where they shall be provided with temporary candidate identification numbers before they proceed with payments.
- Registration fees for the 2024 Examination are the same as those of the 2023 session. All payments shall be made ONLY through MTN Mobile Money by the candidates themselves. The candidate MUST take back to their registration centre, the transaction receipts from MTN Cameroon, before their registration will be validated.
- Candidates’ receipts and individual timetables shall be printed and issued on the spot as soon as the candidate’s entries are validated. Chiefs of Centres and Proprietors should not retain these documents for issuance at a later date, for any reason whatsoever. No candidates shall be allowed to write a subject that does not appear on their Individual Timetable.
- The stamping of registration form G3/T3 for 2024 registration exercise shall be done according to the modalities laid down in Ref letter No. 00007669/MINFI/DGI/DRVFC/BC OF 21st September 2023 by the Ministry of Finance at a fee of 1500 FCFA
- Application for Marking of the 2024 GCE Board examinations must be done through MTN Mobile Money ONLY. Subject Officials, Current examiners or New Applicants who do not apply shall not be recruited for the 2024 Marking exercise.

In summary, registration for the Cameroon GCE 2024 starts on the 01/11/2023 and ends on the 23/02/2024. We still await the release of the official general timetable.
