FURTHER MATHEMATICS Here you will be seeing a paper on FURTHER MATHEMATICS for the Cameroon General certificate of Education (CGCE). Further Mathematics is an extension of the Mathematics department geared at preparing students for the university especially those going in for Engineering courses. IN THE ORDINARY LEVEL: Mathematics is mathematics and bears the code 0570. Hence, Mathematics-570 (Maths-570). It comprises of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper one is purely of multiple-choice questions (MCQ) while paper 2 comprises of structural and/or free response questions (FRO). IN THE ADVANCED LEVEL: Mathematics is rather studied in two branches; Pure mathematics with mechanics (PMM) and pure mathematics with statistics (PMS). They both have as codes 765 and 770 respectively. At this stage they both have three papers where paper 1 are both MCQ and paper 2 being perfectly identical in most (95%) of the cases. The paper 3 is not practical but is specialised. Those offering PMM write mechanics and probability while those offering PMS write on statistics and probability.
